Master description
The courses address, in an integrated manner, the main aspects related to the “One Health” approach, which promotes interaction between human health, animal health, and environmental health. Through multidisciplinary training, the master’s degree provides students with the conceptual and methodological tools necessary to understand, prevent, and manage zoonotic diseases, as well as to actively participate in surveillance, control, and health policy programmes at both national and international levels.
The Master’s Degree in Zoonoses and One Health is an official postgraduate programme with a total workload of 60 ECTS credits and a duration of one academic year, divided into two semesters.
The curriculum is structured into six compulsory subjects, five of which correspond to theoretical‑practical content and the sixth is dedicated to the preparation and defence of the Master’s Final Project (TFM). The programme combines theoretical, practical, and applied research activities, and includes the participation of faculty specialised in medicine, veterinary science, biology, public health, and environmental sciences. In this way, it ensures comprehensive training that responds to current and emerging challenges in the field of One Health.
